Roberts & Associates, P.C. is a full service insurance defense law firm handling cases throughout the State of Alabama. The focus of our practice includes the defense of workers' compensation, employment discrimination, premises liability, personal injury defense, automobile/trucking law, fraud, property and casualty, and general insurance defense.

The Firm has experienced associate attorneys and a highly capable team of experienced paralegals, secretaries, and law clerks to provide valuable assistance with the handling of complex litigation.

Philosophy

We are committed to the particular philosophy of our individual clients. Some clients prefer a very aggressive approach to litigation wherein if the claim is not owed, then it should be prepared for trial and tried to a conclusion. Others prefer a more economical approach to litigation which means trying to posture cases for a reasonable settlement at the earliest possible juncture, thereby incurring the least amount of legal expense. We are comfortable with either approach depending on the individual desires of the particular client.

We are committed to providing our clients with the best defense at the most economical cost. We do not adopt the philosophy of performing a lot of unauthorized discovery and investigation only to insist on sufficient settlement authority on the courthouse steps. We personally adopt the philosophy that all cases should be evaluated from a liability standpoint at the earliest possible juncture. Therefore, those cases that should settle will be settled early on to avoid needless litigation costs and those that should be tried, are tried vigorously to a conclusion.

Communication

Our attorneys and staff place special emphasis on communication and we are firmly committed to a policy of reporting to our clients on a regular basis. We typically send a comprehensive preliminary evaluation letter of a claim within 30 days of receipt, to be followed by a midterm report as the case progresses. Finally, a pretrial report is provided approximately 30 days prior to trial summarizing all of the discovery and significant events that have occurred in the case as well as giving an evaluation of the insured's potential exposure, settlement range, and potential jury verdict range.

We are always available to clients to discuss matters that might not pertain to any existing file and on which no billing will be made. This is a service that many clients find helpful and worthwhile.
